Promoting Access to Justice to Combat Gender-Based Violence in Sunsari
Promoting Access to Justice to Combat Gender-Based Violence project is conducting in suunsari where has high proportion of marginalized groups and Muslim minority which are further subjected to social violence with the support and coordianation of Asd with Open Society Foundation. This project seeks to shift the existing paradigm by addressing primary prevention and response to survivors of gender based violence at community level. It aims to create sustainable change in the way service providers respond to and protect victims of domestic violence by: a) supporting and advocating with service providers across different sectors to improve service delivery b) forming women groups and empower them by training them on how to identify and manage cases as well as helping create community-based protection systems to offer psychosocial counseling and other services; c) helping women’s groups to ensure that victims are safeguarded and the escalation of risk is prevented; and d) helping create an enabling environment so that a greater number of survivors will be empowered to access assistance. Thus, this project aims to work at individual, institutional and societal level.
